Ultimate SeaStar 7000 Sea fishing reel
The Ultimate SeaStar 7000 is specially designed for boat and beach fishing. The reel is made of materials that are resistant to salt water. Because of the large rinsing capacity you can use these reels without problems with thick nylon line. The reel is very good quality, feels smooth and has a good price-quality ratio. In addition to saltwater use, the reel is also excellent for other types of fishing like carp fishing.

This reel has been tested a few times now. Used in the demanding Bristol Channel, in varying weather conditions, it's coped well with casting clip down rigs and heavy leads (5 to 8 oz). The reel feels solid in use for a budget choice, and has faired well, time will tell with how robust the internal mechanics are, which is the concern with most reels, but so far it's been good. The spool takes a whole reel of 300 metre 50lb 8 strand braided line perfectly. The drag is strong and nicely adjustable to cater for leaving it unattended. I have bought 5 other cheap to medium cost reels for the family to experiment with sea fishing this year, this one is comparable in quality to other Okuma and Abu Garcia choices we made for spinning but is heavier duty (the others were smaller reels).

+ Decent drag strength and sensitivity
- Only time will tell
solid reel
Assembled with a 12ft/5lb rod, special spod braid head is the best
+ Very robust and efficient
+ Very good for heavy spomb well filled
