Reel fits in well, but does not fit well in the scotty block.... very unfortunate

My biggest fear was that the rod holder would accidentally be pulled up turns rearward and come out of the footrest. If the holder is forward or rear facing, it may come out of the footrest. Normal is only inboard direction for placement and then turning. I placed a stainless steel pin in the footrest. Now it can rotate but never come out of the base.
